ABOUT

Kolors Learning Center has been serving those in need for more than seventeen years. Established in 1993 by Nina Algee , we have evolved into and agency serving children, teens and families. We work daily to educate and empower those we serve through our child care services. We are constant sign of hope in the inner city.

Cost of Care

Families pay a fee for childcare. The fee is set according to a sliding fee
scale based on the family's gross monthly income and its total number of dependents. Many families are eligible for state subsidized childcare. To qualify, your income must meet the eligibility requirement, and you must need childcare because you are employed, in school or some kind of training program. Fees are paid a week in advance, and we collect fees on Monday mornings. Families wishing to make alternate arrangements must discuss them in advance with the Childcare Director when enrolling their children. No child will be admitted to the Center if payments are not up-to-date. Full tuition is charged for all days, including agency holidays and family vacations. One exception to this rule is if your child is absent for a full week due to illness. In such cases, the weekly tuition fee is reduced by half, and you may need to submit a doctor's statement before your child is allowed to return to the Center. Families needing transportation the fee is $5 a day for pick up and drop off. Fees are paid a week in advance, and will be collected on Monday mornings. Or All children need a little time to become oriented to a new environment. On the first day at the Center, we recommend that the parent and child visit for the morning. On the second day, the child may stay all day, depending on how well he or she is adjusting. Parent and director will go over all fees and forms, all fees and forms
must be current and complete and turned in to the director before the child can start.

Attendance

Kolors Learning Center's hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. twenty four hours seven days a week. All children must be dropped off at the Center no later than 9:00 a.m. If your child will be dropped off later than 9:00 a.m., please call the Center at 314-531-1735. We retain the right not to accept children who frequently arrive after 9:00 a.m. Pick-up time is as important as drop-off time. Your child must be picked up according to your shift schedule. That will be discussed by the parent and the director. If you do not pick your child up on time, you will be charged a late fee of $5 for every 15 minutes that your child remains at the Center after your schedule pick up time. You must notify the Center when your child is going to be absent, and if ill, please describe the nature of the illness.
